Because we care!
Kythera Green is a group of local volunteers who care about protecting the culture, environment, and natural beauty of Kythera.
About us
Founded in 2024 by lover of the island, French resident for 30+ years, Pat Mortaigne,
it is run by residents and people connected to the island. Our purpose is simple:
to contribute in practical, thoughtful ways to the wellbeing and future of our community.
Our activities include regular clean-ups of roads and beaches, raising awareness of environmental and social challenges, and celebrating the island’s landscapes, traditions, and people. We also encourage active public participation and support citizen involvement in local decision-making. Through our work, we aim to promote sustainability and a balanced approach to development that respects both nature and community needs. Projects are shaped and carried by the people who feel passionate about them. We offer the platform to do so.
Kythera Green is open to anyone who wants to take part, whether regularly or occasionally. We are united by a shared care for Kythera.
